I have failed to appear in court for a lawsuit of $1200.00 and garnishment. The garnishments have started yet because I did not appear I have now been supoened to appear to show why I should not be held in contempt. I just was not willing to dispute the $1200.00. We are in the process of filing bankruptcy but until the total fee is paid it can't be filed. Since they have their garnishment why am I being asked to appear for contempt and what is the best think I can do. Thanks
