I was with someone who stole things from a store but i didnt take anything totaling maybe $130. They got away. They said at that time they were not going to charge me but if I didn't try and find out info that could help them find him then they would charge me. Can they do that?

You are constitutionally protected from incriminating yourself.
You have a right to remain silent.
You never go wrong by shutting up and standing mute.
You aren't required to do police work.
But, I suggest you discuss this with your parents, if you're a minor.
If you're an adult, you would serve yourself well to not discuss this with anyone but YOUR attorney.
The store doesn't actually charge you with anything.
Charges come after a district attorney reviews the evidence in a case. In this case there is likely zero evidence that you committed any offense.
Forget this ever happened and stop hanging out with crooks.
