My husband recently pleaded guilty to a drug charge and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. We've recently discovered that the attorney who represented him and negotiated the plea bargain, also represented the confidential informant who made the setup for my husband to get the charge so that he could get a lesser charge. The CI referred my husband to this attorney. At the time my husband was unaware that this was the person who set him up. The CI was able to secure a light sentence while my husband incurred the heavier sentence in exchange. Does this consitute a conflict of interest on the part of the attoney? If so, what can I do about it? Thank you in advance for your help and guidance.
