Hi,

I am an independent contractor who did consulting work for an online company in which they terminated the contract.

In the contract it states that if i have a dispute, etc on anything in the contract I must use the American Arbitration Association.

I am no longer IN CONTRACT since again, the company terminated it.

However I am missing part of my pay. Do I have to go through this arbitraton company?

If the contract was terminated doesn't that mean that the terms of the contract are now void?

Can I use other methods in collecting the money that I am owed?

Go over

Go over the contract once again and see if there was stipulation to that effect (that bars filing in another venue). Or better, have your contract analyzed by a friend or an attorney to have an accurate account of your situation. Mostly, there can be permissible stipulation that despite the end of the contract, its binding effect can be extended in some considerable limit of time. (Possibly, It can be that the arbitration clause of your contract is held in that effect).
