College Policy Change

I have a students rights issue. The college I attend raised the standards for the Latin Honors awards when I was in my senior year. Many students are losing their awards completely because of the change. Is the grandfather clause supposed to be used to implement policy change? The change is unfair because our awards are being diminished compared to the awards of the previous graduates. The incoming students have new resources that were not available to the graduating class. This is very troubling as the 2012 graduates will be competing with the 2013 graduates for the same jobs.

This is not a legal issue. The college is free to change the standards at will, and they are not under any legal obligation to grandfather anything.

And truthfully? Few if any employers are going to care one whit whether you won the Latin Honors award, unless you are applying to teach Latin.
