Civil law suit for verbal agreement

I cosigned for about 50,000 worth of debt for an ex. He paid it down to about 29,000. A year ago he walked away. I have a notarized note, emails, text messages all stating this is his debt. I can document every penny was his before I met him. Can I civially sue him for breach of verbal agreement.

You can sue him in civil court although, as you know, you are still legally responsible to the creditor for the entire amount. Almost always never a good idea to cosign for a loan with an ex.
