Overstay, Illegal Status Checking Account for illegal

My jurisdiction is: TN

I have a friend who is about to be deported back to her home country, Ukraine. Is it possible for her to open a checking account in the US with no Social Security number?

Thanks presutin...not to belabor the point but I had some information that it might be possible to open some type of international account here in the US before departing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I don't want my friend to carry her money with her.....and she doesn't trust Ukrainian banks.

I think there are restrictions when it comes to wiring money without owning a bank account. Check with a bank institution to see what can be done in that fashion or what other options she has regarding cashier's checks that can be honored overseas.
