Caught shoplifting in a mall at jersey city, about a month ago. No police involved took my ID,address, height ,weight and took photo . Later in a week received civil demand which i paid immediately. And last 2 days back called court and got to know there are no records on me as of now. So is that all over ? I know what i did is wrong and learnt a lesson . Never ever i repeat it. Please suggessions are appreciated

I am a Retail Theft consultant and answer questions like yours daily. It appears the store decided to settle this without getting courts involved. Since you paid Civil Demand the store has NOTHING to gain by filing a criminal complaint now

Most likely it is over. Generally if you pay the civil demand, no further action is taken against you & no police were called at time of incident.
