I got caught stealing today at Sears ($140 value). I gave them no trouble, was honest, etc. I got a misdemeanor charge and a summons to court. I have had a completely clean record prior to this event. I am nervous about what to expect from court. Will i go to jail? WIll i just have to pay a large fine? Probation? Community service? I am completely new to this and I am starting to panic!
Also, is it possible to get this misdemeanor removed from my record after some time or by taking a class or something?
