Was caught shoplifting for merchandise worth $334 at a mall . It was all by LP agent but no police involved and no SS# asked .
Only made me sign 1. no tresspassing paper 2. paper accepting the offense 3. will be on record for national retail agency which can affect my future employment at retail stores. And was said i will receive letter in mail to pay for fines which could be about $1000.
What should I do ??
Hiring a lawyer would help ??

Since there appears to be no criminal charges filed hiring a lawyer might not be needed. If the store that stopped you is a subscriber to the retail theft database you can pretty much guarantee your name will be put in it. This means any other subscriber will have access to the knowledge you were stopped for theft.

How much would be the fine amount??? If I had to guess I would say close to $1000.00 but it depends on your states law on Civil Demand. go to Civil Demand section of this site and you will find a link to get more info

Incident happen this last sat.
It is possible to ask for a break in the amount of fines???

Most of these civil recovery firms will allow you to pay in installments or payment plan. You must make sure you pay on time though. Failure to follow your agreed upon payment plan can get costly
