On 15th of June, a Friday, 2 salespeople from yellowpages.com stopped by to sell me on marketing services. I signed a contract (which I never received a copy of) and told them that I would talk with my marketing person over the weekend, and that I might change my mind. I asked if I had three days to cancel the contract if I changed my mind. They both said that I would. I would just have to let them know.

Well, on Monday 18th I wrote an email to the salesperson, and said I had a few questions before I went ahead with the sale. He responded and I told him (on Tueday 19th) to cancel the sale. He responded with normal sales talk trying to change my mind. I wrote him a second time telling him to cancel. He responded again in sales talk never saying it would be a problem, but trying to convince me on my decision. I emailed him again a third time telling hime very plainly that I wanted to cancel. He never responded to the third email.

Then today, June 28th I received a note from the salesperson, thanking me for my marketing purchase. It was post-dated June 27th. My partner called the salesperson right away and he said it was impossible to cancel- because I never told him to cancel after three days. I have email documentation on the contrary.

What does the law say about this? Do I have the right to cancel? Does three days mean three days or three business days? Help! This is driving me crazy! What should I do?

This is not legal Advice!

Get in touch with the company's customer service department and express you views, explain to them the situation and tell them you are most upset with the way the sales staff and there un professional approach to this matter, demand that the company cancel the order and also ask for it in writing.

Explain this is a form of bulling and how you feel this whole matter is being fraudulently put together. The company in question is a major player in the field and they will have measures in place for this type of situation.

Pease do not worry yourselves silly, this is not a major crises and I am sure if the company in general would like your business in the future they will rectify this matter.

Take Care and good luck

Mark.
