I am an American and my fiance' is a Canadian. We both are truck drivers. He is driving long haul and I drive locally in Oregon. He is in the states weekly delivering loads and then picks up a load in the states and goes back to Canada to deliver. He gets by our house about every 2 weeks or so. We have looked into the k-1 and the k-3 but with both forms, he cannot gain entry into the US until he has been cleared, and we have heard that sometimes it takes up to 2 years. If he is not allowed to enter the US he would lose his job because that is what he does. So, as a result we have been waiting to decide how we can get married but still allow him to continue crossing the border as his job requires. Got any ideas as to how we can get married,or file a form requesting to get married, and he can still cross the border and keep his job? We have been seeing each other for the last 4 years and have wanted to marry for the last 3 years. We are both in our 40's.
