I wanted to know if there is a time limit to claim an inheritance. I was told you only have one year, and after that you are time barred. Thank you.

I don't know if that's correct or not but "I was told" is the most dangerous phrase in the English language.
It would help to know who told you that and under what circumstances. Was it somebody who is trying to keep an inheritance from you? Something else?
