Hello,
I am renting a 4-bedroom house with my boyfriend in Topanga,Los Angeles County, CA. We are the only two names of the lease but the landlord gave us written permission to sublease the 2 extra bedrooms. We have 2 room mates who are currently subletting. Since we started this arrangement, we already had one room mate who moved out and was replaced with a new room mate with the permission of the landlord. 8 months later, we now have another room mate who wants to move out to return home to be with his family. We want to replace this room mate but when we asked the landlord, he said NO because he was tired of the room mate turn-over though this is the first we heard of this complaint. Is this legal? Or do we have a right to replace this room mate?
Thanks!
Nicole
