Can my landlord share my personal information with my neighbor?

Hi there -

I currently live in an apartment with an upstairs neighbor who creates excessive noise and disturbance during legal "nighttime" hours (10 pm - 7 am).

We have filed many complaints with our building management, per their suggestion. Our building manager became overwhelmed and did not know how to solve the problem so she copied myself and my neighbor onto an email, sharing our first and last names with one another, including our email addresses.

Is this legal for her to release and share my personal information to my neighbor?

Yes, it's legal.

And, frankly, the neighbor has a right to know who is filing complaints.

Exactly what kind of noise disturbance are you talking about? Be specific.

Look up your city's noise ordinance. If there is a violation at night, call the police.
