Can a POs Terms override an MSA?

Hi all we are in the business where we are concerned about protecting our IP.

We have MSAs with our clients but when we get a PO regarding the same services but different T&Cs do those apply? We don't want our work considered "work for hire".

My thought is that the PO would only apply if there was no MSA in the first place. Thanks for any guidance.
