I didn't know exactly where to put this so if it's in the wrong thread I'm sorry. But here is my question:
Sometimes random ideas pop into my head at weird times and I tried researching this but nothing came up. I know California is a "Two Party Consent" state in regards to recording conversations, and I take it that if for example a debt collector calls and they provide their disclaimer that "this call may be monitored or recorded" or the like that I "consent" to being recorded.
Does this mean that I myself am able to record the conversation?
Do I have to notify them of recording?
Or, is it basically fair game because apparently they consent to having their part recorded and I stayed on the line and consented?
