On my courtesy notice (and in the court database) my last name was misspelled. (example: spelled Vones instead of Jones)

Would this be grounds for a motion to dismiss? (As I am not the individual referenced on the citation)?

I've seen similar questions on the forums, but not sure in this case.

Minor Errors on Speeding Ticket

Since you received the courtesy notice is is quite likely that your driver's license number is correct. That is all they need.

Here is an article with more information on speeding ticket myths

Yes I read the Urban Legends link, however:

As long as you name and driver's license number are correct you are dinner.

So I wanted to clarify. In any case I've decided to plead guilty and request traffic school.

what about wrong driver's license

A variation of the above:

On the actual citation they gave me, all the information is correct.

On the correspondences they're mailing me, both my DL rumber and my License Plate number are wrong.

in the case of the license plate, only one of the letters is wrong, but the drivers license is absolutely incorrect, as if the person typing didn't realize their fingers were in the right place.

Is there any way I can use this as grounds for dismissal?

EDIT: I just want to clarify that this ticket was also issued in CA.
