Busted Sewer Pipe - Cable Company - Lost Renters - $20K Damage

A very similar thing happened to us years ago, only the pipe that broke was on our property when my husband was doing some repairs to a water line, and the sewer backed up into our neighbor's house. They immediately filed a claim with their insurance, not ours, even though we were technically at fault.

We contacted our insurer and from there all we could do was sit back and let the insurance companies duke it out. Our insurance covered the damages, and the neighbors didn't think they got enough so they sued, but it was all done through the insurance companies and their attorneys.

No, I'm not buying a 10" diameter sewer line coming from the house. That curved impression in the dirt appears to be the width of a standard shovel (about 8") making the white PVC maybe even 3" in diameter.

Let's see if the OP comes back and clarifies that.
