Hello,

Thanks for the service. I currently own a small coffee kiosk as well as work full time for a 501(c)3. I'm wanting to create my own 501(c)3, using my coffee business as a training site for employment development issues for at risk youth. Can I keep my interest in my current business, or do I need to sell my interest when I create my 501(c)3 and broker an agreement with the new owner to allow me to use the business as a training site? What would be the best way to proceed (keeping in mind that I certainly don't want to violate the law and I want to minimize any ethical dilemmas for potential funders)?

Again, thanks for your forum and I look forward to your response.

KC, with my very limited knowledge of this, you will not be able to keep your business as a profit making entity.

Check with a tax CPA.
