I am posting this for a friend who is in desperate need of help. He has very low income, a wife and 2 children. He financed a car, which he owed 11,000.00 dollars on. He traded this car in and the dealership he traded it to was supposed to pay off the car loan(which is stated in the contract for the new car). The dealership did not pay the loan and has since went out of business. He is not the only person this dealership did this to, he has spoke to other people with this same problem with the same dealership. Now the first finance company has contacted him and wants their money. What does he do? What paperwork does he file to get them into court to make them pay this $11,000.00? He cannot afford an attorney to help him. Does he file seperate from the other people or should they file their cases together?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Ask him to consult with an attorney (consultation is often free) to discuss the filing options and attorney fees if the attorney determines that there is enough evidence to present in court to win the case. Hope this helps!
