Can anyone tell me if a local bench warrant for failure to appear (FTA) will prevent one from being able to renew a U.S. passport?

Can the person safely walk into a U.S. embassy abroad and add pages to his/her U.S. passport without being arrested?

Does the U.S. embassy care about local bench warrants for FTA?

These days, you never know.

Generally, The Passport Agency does not concern itself with such things, unless you are wanted.

It also depends on what the subject of warrants is alleged to have done.

It matters if the warrants are for traffic or serious felony charges, too.

If I were you, I'd just take care of the warrants.

Then you wouldn't have to be so skittish.

If the charges are serious enough or the US Marshals are after you, you can be arrested anywhere.

Take care of the warrants, before things get out of hand!
