What happens if you are arrested on a bench warrant somewhere other than the prosecuting jurisdiction, waive extradition, and they don't come and get you?

Does the bench warrant go away?

No, bench warrants never go away without some affirmative action by the subject of the warrant.

Until the warrant is adjudicated, a person such as you describe would most likely be incarcerated until the matter has been litigated.

Or, they might be released on a very high bond. That is very rare, however. Normally the arrestee is held in a jail.
