In 2006 recieved a process of garnishment for a credit card. The company I work for collected the garnishment money and sent it to the court. Move ahead to 2009 and it turns out the lawyer for the plaintiff did not file proper paperwork to garnish me. So the law firm contacts me and demands I go to the court house and sign a release so they can recieve their money. Then today my company gets a letter they have to garnish me again for 12% interest for the three years they did not collect their money. My question is there anything I can do about this

Yes, there is a lot you can do.

Hire a lawyer immediately.

Do not delay in hiring this lawyer.

Do not sign anything, without the advice of counsel.

You are not required to help those bumbling lawyers cure defects in their bumbling efforts to effect garnishment.

You can stop the garnishment.

Most likely, the statute of limitations has run.
