battery charge

I was arrested for battery and it was adjudication withheld.. I completed my probation this was a few years ago... Now Im being told that I cant own a firearm.. is this true or not and if it is true how do I go back and get it fixed so I can own firearms?

Battery is generally not a felony offense and shouldn't result in this problem. You will need to obtain further information about what your background report produced. You may need to contact the court that handled this matter in order to have it resolved.
There is a possibility that the person reviewing your background simply erred.

It wasn't just garden variety, beat up a stranger in bar fight, battery was it?

It was DOMESTIC BATTERY, right?

Good thinking. I bet you are right, AJ - domestic battery -- & in Fl. (& other places also) keeps you from owning a firearm.

But, the original charge was DOMESTIC BATTERY.
It doesn't matter what you pled to, they see the DOMESTIC BATTERY charge.
You know the deal.
