I have filed chapter 7, four years ago, and acquired new credit debt. Is there a possibility I can add this current debt to that chapter 7, since I still have 6 years to go for it to be off my record. I was told this by a loan officer when I attempted to to get one that they can't approve it because I could always tack it on to the chapter 7.

Once your bankruptcy has been discharged, you cannot add items to it so. A bankruptcy will always be a dark cloud on your record (even if 10 years have passed) since the information does not magically disappear from your records after year 10. Credit agencies make a point of keeping them on your records (until you request them to have it removed.) From now on, you need to do a better job at managing your finances. Good Luck!
