Okay,
So my husband is charged with a misdemeanor, he is never arrested. A detective came to the house and asked up questions, but after that we never heard back. He then called us out of the blue and said, "Oh yeah, there is a warrant out for your arrest", Huh? Nobody told us anything. We go down to court and our case is heard then and there. We ask for a lawyer, we fill out forms, they tell us we don't qualify we make too much money. Mind you, we are seriously barely getting by....We have 7 kid total, 4 of which reside with us. We are then told we have to provide our own attorney. We can barely make rent, let alone a $2000 retainer for an attorney. He pleads no contest and He takes the plea. Is there anything we can do. He was given probation, counseling, cal trans. But still we feel we've been wronged. Can we do anything?
