That motorhome strikes me much like a boat does: costs a lot to buy, a lot to maintain & store, and in the end gets very little use to justify the cost. The people I know who have motorhomes do love them but they concede that it wasn't really worth all the money that went into them.
I once thought it'd be cool to have a small airplane so I could fly around the country whenever I wanted and not have to deal with airlines, long TSA security lines, etc. But that would end up falling into the same category. I'd spend a small fortune to get the plane, the lessons to fly it and get FAA certification, pay for having it parked at an airport, and of course all the maintenance. I'd have to fly it an awful lot to justify it.

There are places in Arizona where you can buy a home with a hangar, store your plane at your house, drive it to the nearby airport for take-off.
My ex did this... as a cure to his fear of flying... go figure. It wasn't really cost- or time-effective. For some reason, his employers weren't keen on the extra time every trip took.
I spent many a flight in less than ideal conditions, noting landmarks that would help me find my way to civilization should we crash (note, my ex was actually a very good - and safe - pilot). To this day (we've been divorced for >25 years), I check reports of small plane crashes... just out of curiosity, of course.
