My ex did this... as a cure to his fear of flying... go figure. It wasn't really cost- or time-effective. For some reason, his employers weren't keen on the extra time every trip took.I once thought it'd be cool to have a small airplane so I could fly around the country whenever I wanted and not have to deal with airlines, long TSA security lines, etc. But that would end up falling into the same category. I'd spend a small fortune to get the plane, the lessons to fly it and get FAA certification, pay for having it parked at an airport, and of course all the maintenance. I'd have to fly it an awful lot to justify it.
