In 2010 I purchased a car from the dealership, that I continued to make payments on until January 2011, I personally was unable to continue to make the payments myself. Payments were continued by my brother uninterrupted. My insurance company involuntarily cancelled my insurance in August 2011, even though payments were being made on time. The dealership repossessed the car, because of the insurance issue. How can I get the car back?

It is usually possible to get repossessed cars returned, but only for a very short time (usually 7-14 days), it depends on the state.

I suggest you speak with the lender and/or the agency that repossessed the vehicle.

I wouldn't hold out too much hope, but it might be worth a few phone calls.

If they permit you to get the car back, it will cost you lots of cash.

But, ask the lender or the repossession agency.
