Auto financing

I purchased a car at a used car dealership last week. I resigned from my employer the day before I purchased the car. I started w/ a new employer the next business day. (I had purchased the vehicle over the weekend) After signing all the paperwork and obtaining the vehicle the dealership said the bank that approved my financing had called to verify my employment ( 2 business days after purchasing the car) They want me to prove a certain amt of income w/ my new job or they want the car back. Shouldn't they have done this prior to allowing me to obtain ownership of the vehicle? Do I have to satisfy their conditions or take the car back?

Banks are closed during the weekends and your timing just didn't fit into the employment verification process. Can you not prove the income you stated on the financing application with your new job? If not, then take the car back.
