My attorney will not respond to any emails, calls or even when I show up at his office. He has a very large retainer and I am tired of being left in the dark about things going on with my case. Do all attorneys avoid their clients like this? This is very frustrating. Nothing has happened, since my lawsuit was filed. He will only email me to answer a question from the other parties attorney. This is the first lawsuit I have ever been involved in, so I am clueless about these things.

What is the best way to fire an attorney? I don't want to come off sounding like a mad woman, because I don't trust him now. Can he give the other parties attorney info pertaining to my case after I discharge him?

Thanks for any advice.

If you feel like he is not properly handling your case you can file a complaint with the state bar.
