I contacted my Nationwide insurance rep for help to see if he could find me some individual health insurance and he got me started with Assurant. I spoke to the Nationwide insurance rep today, and to my surprise he was aware of my medical history which would have been given to him by Assurant.
This is very concerning to me and I don't believe that I gave Assurant the right to share my medical history with my insurance agent.
Can anyone give me an idea of whether or not Assurant violated any privacy laws? I can't believe that my insurance agent can get access to this information.
