are they bound by contract?

i made an offer on a short sale house monday this week. the offer was accepted and an agreement was signed with the company handling the short sale. we have already started the inspection process and have held up our end of the deal so far. the owner has decided to pull out of the agreement and sell it to someone who they know personally. we have not broken the contract in any way and now we are out of the deal. are they bound by contract to sell us this home?:dgrin

All other things being equal, they're bound by the contract. They may not be bound to sell you the home - if they breach, you might only be entitled to damages. Consult a local real estate lawyer.
