I just froze up and went into shock...I didn't file my opposition to my mothers request for guardianship of my 8 yr old son thru the proper avenues. I gave one to her lawyer but thought I was supposed to hand the courts directly to the judge (yeah,I know, stupid). Her lawyer excluded me from the courtroom and denied my petition to include my contestment.
My mother was awarded temporary guardianship with a review in a year from April.
CPS and the court mediator are both in favor of my continued role as custodial parent. It was also proven (by the mediator) that my mothers' accusations against me are not only groundless but maliciously contrived falsehoods.
What steps do I need to take to get my son back without the benefit of counsel?

Agree with Proserpina (more info needed) - she is great at family law though it's "possible" you "might" need the benefit of counsel also. (so that you do everything correctly)
