AOL Sued for Unauthorized Sales of Merchandise to Subscribers

According to a federal lawsuit filed on Monday, February 25, in Federal Court in San Francisco, AOL-Time Warner has been sued for allegedly charging thousands of subscribers for merchandise that they claim not to have ordered. The subscribers claim to have merchandise appear at their door, purchased apparently as a result of the endless pop-up advertisements that litter the service provider's Internet offering, which they do not ever recall having ordered. While the class action suit has only 3 plaintiffs, it alleges that thousands of such instances of unauthorized purchases.
