So about 5 years ago I got a speeding ticket in the state of Oregon (visiting) which they doubled to around $500 because the copper said I was in a "Safety Corridor", whatever that means...I really didn;t have the money to pay it, and since I live in North Carolina wasn;t to worried about..So now my NC drviers license has expired and they will not renew it because NC says that Oregon has a lock on my license, something about with Homeland Security all the states talk to each other now...So this morning I get pulled over by a Cary, NC cop who claimed I had a "Liscense plate light not illuminated" and of course get a ticket for having an expired NCDL. I find it incredibly hard to believe that there is not somehow I can get my NCDL renewed, any ideas? I cannot afford to ship Oregon of a check for $500 but I need to have a current NCDL....
