Lease question..
in the tenant section of the lease it says Jane doe and/or John Doe.

If John Doe decides to leave, his he still responsible for his part of the lease or would everything fall onto Jane and John Doe could just walk away without the landlord being able to do anything against him?

Both are jointly and severally liable.
The landlord can go after one or both.

One can leave, but his/her departure doesn't alleviate her/him of his/her financial obligation.

No one can't just walk away from a lease and not owe something.
