Hi!
I have read through the postings but have yet to see (I may have overlooked) someone marrying a Canadian (in the USA) whom is already in the USA as a student.
My fiance is at Yale doing his doctorate...before that he worked in the US for 5 years.
We are planning getting married in August in Connecticut.

Can we get married anywhere in the USA?
Should we apply after we get married in the USA, for a Fiance Visa or for a Green Card?
Will he have to leave the country for any reason?

Thanks! Any information on this particular situation would be really beneficial.
Thanks for all you do!
Ashley

It depends on what visa the Canadian has. You can marry anywhere you want. If he has a valid student visa and is legally in the US, you then can simply file the petition for alien relative and file for adjustment of statuts. You do not need to leave the country or a fiancee visa for that.
