We moved into a property one month ago through an estate agent and paid them 6 weeks deposit.
When it came to paying the landlord another months rent, the landlord insisted we paid less than agreed, however on our copy of the tenancy agreement (only signed by tenants - not landlord), it stated a less amount.
The landlord is now saying we are to pay more otherwise she will kick us out.
The landlord has now said the tenancy she has signed has stated a higher amount, so we have both signed different tenancies.
Where do we stand legally in this situation?

Thank you

While this question comes from the United Kingdom it would be difficult to believe that landlord/tenant laws there would be so different that a lease listing a specific amount of rent would not be a legally binding contract.

If the landlord tries to evict you then she will have to prove her case to a judge. You have conflicting contracts, and the landlord will have difficulty explaining the discrepancy. In the mean time, continue paying the amount that your contract indicates. Failure to pay at least that amount will get you in trouble.
