Are there any options for changing plea, expunging of record or lowering the original charge against me to a lesser crime after completion of probation? The crime is solicitation of prostitution which is a misdemeanor in California. I believe in california, for this crime, the maximum sentence is 6 months (not 1 year like most misdemeanors) for first time offenders. My probation will end in 3 months.
Can i go back to the judge after i complete probation to explain that I'm not a bad moral person and a person of good character? Sometimes bad luck and certain circumstances happen to people. Does someone who has committed only 1 misdemeanor have a chance to redeem themselves legally? Does the law give a second chance to people who truly learned from their mistake? I'm really ashamed and desperate for a second chance…
