My niece used a truck from her storage place. They did not provide insurance and told her that they would use her insurance company. Well she backed the truck into a poll. When she took it back she did not say anything and they signed off stating that the truck was returned in good condition. Well they later saw the surveillance video and the slight damage on the truck and called and told her that her insurance company would not cover a commercial vehicle and said that she needed to pay $1707.00. What is the law on this. If they signed off on the paper stating that the truck was returned in good condition is she still responsible for the damage. She also did not know that the truck was considered a commercial vehicle and I think you have to be licensed in NM to drive a commercial vehicle. Any advice?
