My neighbor had an accident 2 years ago in California and she had collision insurance only. She made a deal with the guy to pay for his damages each month and has been making these payments for 2 years now. Then 2 days prior to the 2 year point she received a court paper suing her for physical damages, loss of work, medical bills etc. for a total of $25,000. I have been looking up the laws and see references to 1 year for filing physical damages but not more. Should she be worried? What should she do? She makes very little money. Any suggestions on who she should call for information? Any help would be appreciated.

She didn't have liability insurance that covers bodily injury to another person for an accident? She should have. The statute of limitations for a bodily injury claim in CA is 2 years. She needs to contact her insurance company that she had at the time of the accident.
