Abandon Propane Tank, Is it mine or theirs

A company recently came by to get a Propane tank that has been abandon for several years. I am a tenant and I know this tank has been left for a long time, unused and unserviced for over 10 years. Is this abandoned or does it still belong to the company, who apparently did not care about it for so long. I am only curious as I have no interest in the tank, but I almost gave it to a scrap metal collector a month earlier. Would that have caused me a problem?

Are you the owner of the property where the tank is located? Do you know for sure that the tank has been abandoned? It's a case by case basis and your acting on your assumptions is a risk you take. There are no guarantees. Just ask the old man who "stole" Tom Brady's flower pots.
