Abandoming a mobile home

I have two elderly parents who have been diagnosed with dimentia. They own their mobile home free and clear and pay a monthly space payment in a mobile home park. I will be relocating them to a facility shortly and want to know the reprecussions of abandoning the home. They live on social security income only and have no means to move the moible. The mobile home is so old it does not meet the HUD guidelines.

Your parents (or you) could be liable for the cost of removing the home and whatever fees are outstanding on the space in the park. I guess if they don't pay, the park owner could sue them, probably in small claims. If the mobile could be sold, whatever they might owe could come out of the proceeds.
