Hello all, and thank you in advance for your help.

I have a tricky situation to try and figure out. I am a Canadian in love with an American and we want to marry. I want to immigrate there, but he does not have the finances to sponsor me as he is disabled. Every month I have been helping to support him, and I could support myself, him and my two kids if I lived and worked there... I support him now.

Is there any way at all that I can become a citizen in the US through marriage even though he can't sponsor me? Does the fact that I have been helping to support him factor into things at all?

What did the immigration service say when you asked your questions?

    This is not legal Advice!

    Hey,

The question you are asking will make no sence to immigration, if you want him to sponcer you he has to be able to support you; not you support him?

If you love him that much you should concider moving him near to you.

Good luck in your quest but I personally think the direction you are asking will turn out to be a dead end.

    Take care

    Mark.
