Assault & Battery 3rd Degree Assault in NYC...advice please..

Hi

My friend has been charged with 3rd degree assualt in NYC. He is a UK citizen and has to return to new york for court. Can anyone recommend a good lawyer and advise as to what he can expect to recieve....i know the maximum punishment is 12 months but will that happen?

If you cannot afford to hire a lawyer, one may be appointed for you if you are qualified.

If you have the dough to hire a lawyer, call the New York state bar and ask for referrals.
