$3000 reinstatement fee for license after ten years

When I was 18 I made a stupid mistake and ran from the police after getting pulled over. This was ten years ago. The officer wrote me (according) to the judge) entirely too many tickets(16). The only trouble I have been in since is caught driving with suspended license. I am as of this month able to get my license, but just the reinstatement fees are $3000. I've already been to court and served my punishment for every crime/Ticket. Why are they trying to make me pay a reinstatement fee for every ticket I've ever gotten. I'm only getting one license, makes no sense to pay the fee of 20 people. Is there anything I can do to get this fee reduced, any little bit would help

You can request a hearing by the people who want the $3,000. You might be able to get a slight reduction.
Your problem may have been the driving while revoked/suspended, not just the fleeing, which often is a felony.

If you think $3,000 is a tough nut, wait until you try to get car insurance.

It sounds like the police officer did not appreciate your risking his life and wanted to send a clear message.
