I had just left my doctor's office, took a pain pill which made me very hazy and did not want to drive my car. Instead, I entered a store and walked out with the basket of Kohl's merchandise without paying for them in 2004. It has been 10 years on Feb 14, 2014. Will this incident show on a background check? If yes, how long will it take to get this shopping charge expunged?

Thanks for your assistance.

What happened on February 14, 2004? Were you arrested? Charged? Convicted? Sentenced to what?

Expungement won't make an arrest or a conviction disappear.

It just won't go away after 50 years via expungement.

Some entities will always be able to see it.

Only a pardon wipes any stain away.

intoxication is not a defense, not that it matters at this point. It is there forever again unless you get a pardon
