my son broke into a swimming pool and stole a cash box. he has never been in trouble before. Will the Georgia first time offender law save him. we have no money, should we sell the house to get a good lawyer.

No need to sell the house. He will get representation appointed by the court. If he really has no criminal history then he may come out of this just fine. There are many ways for this to be resolved, and some of them don't result in a criminal conviction.
