I was traveling with less than an ounce of marijuana and was caught. I do have a legal card, but I did not have it on me at the time, so they gave me a 11357b ticket.

I'm not concerned about the money at all, but would prefer not to have this on my record at all. Is there any way I can send them a notarized copy of my legal Recommendation and have the charges dropped?

As a side question: if they catch me with marijuana and the card on me, what do they do?

Thanks in advance!

Not likely. However in California that offense is now handled as an infraction rather than a misdemeanor, so don't be too concerned about a criminal record. It's just about the same as a speeding ticket.

Additionally, don't "send" anyone anything. When you go to court, bring a copy of your recommendation or state DHS card with you. Understand that the recommendation is not a guaranteed pass on the charge, but the DHS card would be.
